Yesterday, just as I came out of Promyvion-Dem as RDM67/NIN33 (not on /anon) , with nothing but Lv.30- gears, some dude /check'ed me and started to send me /tell's.

How could someone interested enough in Ochiudo's Kote to know its price missed the fact that only MNK, NIN, and SAM can use it? Plus, he checked out my hands slot, so he must have noticed I was using Battle Gloves, which NIN and SAM cannot use--but I couldn't have been a MNK since I was wielding dual Centurion Swords. >_>
The "hairpin" he referred to was the Empress Hairpin, by the way--rare/ex; no way to "purchase" one. Leaping Boots aside, I had nothing which marked me as a possible Rich Player. (Those boots were a gift from a friend who left FFXI.)
Maybe just a not-so-clued gil buyer? Who knows?

The guy was being a bit of an idiot for not realizing that rdms can't use o-kote. My guess is that he probably thought you were a nin. >.>
Only 2 million? That's still a large sum in this deflated economy.
